BLUE BLOCKERS

So by now I am sure you’ve all heard its not good to look at your phones at night. But you might not know that any light at night can have significant affects on your health.

This includes light from your TV, your tablet, LED street lamps, LED headlights and so on. When you expose yourself to bright artificial light at night it signals to your brain that it is day time, your brain then stops secreting melatonin. Melatonin is our sleep and anti aging hormone that allows our body to repair and replace damaged cells. This repair process is crucial to maintaining a healthy mind and body.
Poor sleep is linked to weight gain, anxiety, depression, diabetes, heart disease and most other health issues. But in this modern day society where we are so dependent  on technology it’s a lot to ask to shut off all blue light after sunset.

So after the sunsets if want to watch tv, check your phone or hang out in a brightly lit environment be sure to wear your blue blockers and you will be doing yourself a huge favor.

Protect your eyes, sleep better and be prepared for tomorrows adventures!

Melanopsin

Did you know that we have blue light sensors in our eyes that detect if blue light is in our field of vision. This blue light detector is called melanopsin.

Or modern lifestyle, in which we spend most of our time indoors looking at bright screens and bright lights at night, activates melonopsin at the wrong time of day and night, which then disrupts our circadian rhythm’s and reduces the production or release of the sleep hormone melatonin, and as a result we cannot get restorative sleep.

Quality sleep is crucial for the maintenance of a healthy mind and body. Without this repair and restoring processes provided by melatonin we feel tired and less sharp the following day. After a few days or weeks we get Into depression and anxiety. Following that disease.

Block blue light at night, get morning sun, increase your exposure to therapeutic red light and sleep like a baby.

Sunrise and Sunset

Sunsets are special. Through light frequency that lands of the surface of our skin and eyes we receive information that tells our body what time is. If you missed the sunrise, Sunset is the next most important thing to experience. By doing so it sets your circadian rhythm, activates positive gene expression, and produces appropriate hormones. The sunset prepares your body for regeneration that takes place during sleep. Do yourself a favor and be outside and present for either sunrise or sunset.

COLLAGEN PRODUCTION

Collagen is the most abundant protein in our body, and it’s critical for bone, joint and skin health. It’s hard, fibrous, and extremely strong. It literally holds us together, and the more you can make naturally the better. BRAIN HEALTH

While most people are familiar with benefits from red therapy for most skin issues like wrinkles, sun damage, healing burins and cuts but most people aren’t aware of the benefits for the brain.

Red and near infrared light therapy may significantly slow the progress of Alzheimers and Parkinson’s disease as well as benefit individuals with dramatic brain injuries.

Red and near infrared light therapy has been shown to benefit cognitive performance and memory. Improve mitochondrial function of brain cells. Have a protective effect on neurons and improve cellular repairs of those neurons. As well as increase brain derived neurotrophic factor BDNF and nerve growth factor NGF and last but not least decrease brain inflammation.

Sounds like some amazing benefits for only a couple minutes a day of light therapy!
